Submissions

 

Smithereens Press is currently inactive and closed for submissions. This may not be permanent, but for now, no submissions will be read or responded to.




Smithereens Press is an inclusive publisher and we happily welcome submissions for Smithereens Literary Magazine and for the Smithereens chapbook series from all poets.

NOTE: All submissions should follow the guidelines below and should be sent to smithereens.press@gmail.com. Submissions that do not follow these giudelines will not be considered.


CHAPBOOKS:

  • Chapbooks should be approximately 30 pages in length.
  • Submissions should be marked 'Chapbook Submission' in the email subject.
  • Chapbooks should be emailed as an attachment in .doc or .docx format. Any other format will be deleted unopened.
  • Poets should include a short biography and a medium-sized photograph in the body of the email.
  • All submissions should be ready-to-print.
  • All styles, schools or modes of poetry are welcome.
  • Submissions should demonstrate a poetic coherency to work as a chapbook.
  • All previous publication of poems included in the poet's submission should be acknowledged.
  • We do not accept simultaneous submissions, but we will endeavour to give you a response as soon as possible.
  • The press' decision is final, we regret that we are not in a position to enter into correspondence of any kind.
  • Acceptance of any submission is provisional and may be subject to revision of the original submission.

SMITHEREENS LITERARY MAGAZINE:

  • Submission Windows: #1: 1st March - 31st April, #2 1st September - 31st October
  • Submissions received outside of these windows will go unread
  • Poets should submit 3-6 poems.
  • Submissions should be marked 'Magazine Submission' in the email subject.
  • Poems should be emailed as a single attachment in .doc or .docx format. Any other format will be deleted unopened.
  • All poets should include a short biography and a medium-sized photograph in the body of the email.
  • All styles, schools or modes of poetry are welcome.
  • We do not accept simultaneous submissions, but we will endeavour to give you a response as soon as possible, usually a couple of weeks after the close of a submission window.
  • The press' decision is final, we regret that we are not in a position to enter into correspondence of any kind.
  • Acceptance of any submission is provisional.
